Marek Glogowski's profile

Plurality Now Microbial Dinner and Care

We usually think of bacteria as pathogens that we are at war with, but most microbes are neutral or beneficial for us. Humans are covered with a microbial film and 90% of the cells in our bodies have bacterial DNA. The basis of our life is symbiosis.
At the ‘Plurality_Now’, we discuss how our systems might change if we focused more on our bacterial companions and see eating as an act of care for our inner environment. Marek Glogowski invites you to join yourself for dinner in the metabolised restaurant, where all of the food is derived through bacterial processes – a vision for the future of food after agriculture.

Textiles illustrating the potential for either dystopian(dark) or utopian (light) future scenario. Designed by author, handwoven by Małgorzata Pepłowska.
Book explaining the vision of future food chains after the end of agriculture, based on fermentation and bacterial symbiosis.
Panel discussion on microbial politics.
